Globat arrived on the hosting scene in 2001. Since that time, they have become one of top hosting companies on the internet today. They have a generous hosting plan at a relatively low price.
There is no guarantee of 99.9% uptime on the website, but I found the hosting to be pretty reliable. It always a concern of mine when I don't see an uptime guarantee right away, but they back their hosting up with a one-year guarantee. This puts them on the line to deliver and make sure your web hosting doesn't go down often.
They have redundant servers and backup to keep your site up and running. You can tour their data center on the website and see their servers. It's a solid set-up and highly reliable.

You'll have to pay a set-up fee for Globat's basic package. It's $19.95 for the set-up fee and $7.95 a month if you pay it annually. I'm not a fan of set-up fees especially when a lot of other hosting companies are willing to waive them.
You get 25 GB of storage space and 3.5 terrabytes of annual data transfer. That works out to almost 300 GB of monthly transfer. You also get a free ecommerce package, a free website builder called GloBuild, a free photo management system called Globat Gallery.
You get unlimited pop3 email accounts, and support for Perl, php, cgi-bin and Frontpage extensions.

You can contact Globat via email, live chat, and my favorite 24/7 phone support. I found the staff to be very helpful and attentive to my questions.
Also, their faq section is very comprehensive and they have an easy to use 'Table of Contents' area that will walk you though virtually every question or problem you have.

The control panel is one of the easiest to use. They call it a 'Command Center' and it really is. You can take control of virtually all of their hosting features with the click of a button using this panel. It's simple and effective.

Overall, I give Globat a C+. I don't like set-up fees, but the entire package they deliver is well worth the price and is a good value for the money.
